Munich's Oktoberfest, considered the world's largest beer festival, will begin on Saturday when the city's mayor, Dominik Krause, opens the first keg.

This year's Oktoberfest could be a real pain in the ass. According to German website merkur.de, the average price of a liter of beer at the Munich festival will be around €15.80. Those opting for water, however, will be in for an even bigger surprise – in one of the tents, a liter will cost over €15.
The prices at the Oktoberfest are rising unabated. In one of the marquee tents, a litre of table water costs more than 15 euros - and is therefore more expensive than the cheapest beer. On 19 September, the start of this year's Oktoberfest visit to Munich is noticeably more expensive, whether for food, drinks or carousels. This year, the alcohol-free drinks are a special price driver: In Kuffler's wine tent, one litre of water costs 15.33 euros.…
