- During the last several weeks, investigators uncovered that members of Ironton’s football program engaged in coordinated recruiting with parents and prospective students, including efforts to conceal evidence.
- Aside from sanctions, the association confirmed OHSAA penalties include probation and a $8 fine, and Ironton will retain its 2024 Division V state championship.
- An ineligible student-athlete participated in a game, so Ironton will forfeit that final regular-season contest, and in the final computer ratings on Sunday, Ironton will be placed at the bottom of Region 19 in Division V.
- Some members of Ironton’s coaching staff will be barred from next year’s playoffs if coaching, and the district said it presented rebuttal evidence, will change policies, and attend an OHSAA compliance seminar.
