- Because the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D performed so well in recent years, AMD used a binning process on the same silicon to select chips that run stably at higher clocks, producing the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D.
- Each 9850X3D is built with eight AMD "Zen 5" cores and 16 threads, pairs 32MB L3 cache and 64MB last-level cache, and AMD said the clock bump could enable around an 8% performance increase in best-case gaming scenarios.
- AMD said it will ship in the first quarter of 2026, with pricing not yet disclosed, benefiting esports enthusiasts and users with high-end GPUs such as the RTX 5090 while offering little gain at 4K max settings.
