Thousands of bus stops throughout Austria were reported by passengers due to gross defects – and Salzburg is infamous. A large survey by the Verkehrsclub Österreich (VCÖ) shows the "spots of shame" in the local Öffi network, especially the Mirabell and Makartplatz in the city of Salzburg.
Passengers reported 1,142 of around 5,720 stops with defects in the Austria-wide initiative "Standing points in the passenger check-up of the mobility organisation VCÖ. Most frequently, lack of weather protection and lack of shade were criticized.
