- On Wednesday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi began an investor outreach in the UAE, signing a memorandum of understanding with the International Holding Company and Adani Group for 14 projects entailing around ₹2.10 lakh crore.
- The Odisha government aims to leverage its resource base to move beyond conventional mineral extraction, attracting investments in downstream manufacturing and critical minerals from UAE-based investors.
- These 14 proposed projects are estimated to generate around 8.7 lakh employment opportunities, including approximately 1.9 lakh direct jobs, 4 lakh indirect roles, and 2.8 lakh construction-related positions.
- In a separate Abu Dhabi roundtable, Majhi engaged with the Indian Business & Professional Group to expand exports of Odisha-origin products like turmeric and seafood, while exploring skilled professional deployment to the UAE.
- The Chief Minister is scheduled to engage with aluminium downstream industries during his five-day tour, reflecting a strategy to deepen trade links and secure long-term industrial partnerships.
