NYPD Ramps up Security Ahead of New Year's Eve

- Detours begin at 2 a.m., disrupting traffic from 42nd to 49th streets, viewer entry points open in the afternoon on West 45th, 49th, 52nd and 56th streets, and nearby parking garages shut at 11 a.m.
- With roughly one million expected, authorities are using layered security as city officials said there are no credible threats and warned of `zero tolerance` for interference.
