A New York City police detective who was accidentally shot by a fellow officer while pursuing a carjacker in White Rock last Friday (August 22) was released from the hospital on Monday (August 25). He was greeted by cheers and applause from the crowd at the Jamaica Hospital as he was escorted out. Doctors said he was extremely lucky, as a slight miss could have meant the difference between life and death.
