Nucor expanding Decatur operation with $60 million investment, 60 new jobs
The project will expand utility pole production and add storage and inspection space as demand grows for power grid equipment, the company said.
On Tuesday, Nucor Corporation announced a $60 million investment to expand its Towers & Structures facility in Trinity, Alabama, expected to create 60 new jobs in Morgan County.
Aiming to meet strong national demand for utility infrastructure, the expansion builds on the facility's 2025 opening adjacent to Nucor Steel Decatur, Nucor Chair and CEO Leon Topalian said.
Adding production capacity, laydown space, and a dedicated galvanizing inspection area, the project offers positions with average annual wages exceeding $87,000.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced the expansion, crediting the state's skilled workforce, while Decatur Mayor Kent Lawrence praised Nucor's continued commitment to the community.
Nucor employs more than 2,700 people at 12 locations across Alabama, including three facilities in Morgan County anchoring its regional manufacturing presence.
