In late June, we can look out at fields and roadsides that are a mixture of colors. The wildflowers that bloom here are mostly perennials. Many are nonnative, but we cannot deny their colorful scene. Purple is represented by one of the largest groups of flowers out here: lupines. (There is a species of lupine that is native, but the tall ones that we see along the roadsides are not.)
