On Aug. 6 the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District approved a cooperative effort to dedicate up to 2,500-acre-feet (814.6 million gallons) of Fryingpan-Arkansas Project water to the Upper Arkansas River.

The La Junta Tribune-Democrat reached out to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, which had an official confirm that none of the up to 2,500 acre-feet of Fryingpan-Arkansas Project drought release water announced back on Aug. 6 is set to reach the Arkansas River in Otero or Bent counties.
