Nobody Wants This Creator Pushes Back on Adam Brody’s Israel-Palestine Comments
Adam Brody’s comments on Israel have fueled boycott calls as Netflix rolls out the new season, raising questions about audience turnout and a possible fourth season.
- Netflix released the third season of "Nobody Wants This" on Thursday, starring Adam Brody as Rabbi Noah Roklov and Kristen Bell as Joanne Williams, amid boycott calls following Brody's political comments.
- Last month, Brody told GQ, "Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine" regarding the Israel-Gaza conflict, sparking widespread criticism beyond pro-Israel communities.
- Former consultant Rabbi Steve Leder denounced Brody as an "ignorant Jew," asserting "there is no genocide in Gaza," while viewers launched social media boycott calls against the series.
- Creator Erin Foster said she disagrees with Brody but emphasized he is "entitled to a different opinion," stressing the show remains a "love letter to Judaism" celebrating Jewish life.
- Viewers navigate cognitive dissonance between Brody's on-screen portrayal and his public political stances, raising questions about whether the backlash will impact engagement with the third season.
