June 24th was the day for the New York mayoral Democratic primary election. It was the hottest day of the summer so far, with the highest temperature reaching 38 degrees Celsius. There were not many people voting at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) polling station in Midtown Manhattan. The station was deserted. In half an hour at noon, the queue of people waiting to register to vote did not exceed two people.
