No. 2 BYU meets UCF in Big 12 play
BYU brings a 6-0 record and the nation’s 3rd-ranked third-down offense into a matchup with UCF, which is 4-2 against the spread.
On Saturday, No. 2 BYU visits Orlando to face UCF at Acrisure Bounce House Stadium in a Big 12 conference matchup. The undefeated Cougars seek to extend their winning streak against a rested Knights team playing on homecoming.
The Cougars climbed to No. 2 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll after defeating Notre Dame 28-24 last week. BYU has opened 6-0 for the third consecutive season, positioning them as a College Football Playoff contender.
Quarterback Bear Bachmeier earned Big 12 co-Offensive Player of the Week honors, leading a BYU offense averaging 421.2 yards per game. UCF coach Scott Frost praised the Cougars, saying, "They're big and long and physical."
UCF enters the contest off a bye week following two losses to ranked opponents, including a 42-28 defeat at Oklahoma State on Oct. 10. Keyone Jenkins is expected to make his fifth consecutive start for the Knights.
Hosting a top-5 team at the Bounce House marks a program first for UCF. The Knights view the homecoming game as an "awesome opportunity for us on homecoming" to secure an upset against the undefeated Cougars.
