Nintendo Increases Original Switch Prices by Up to 15%
UNITED STATES, AUG 1 – Nintendo cites tariffs and market conditions for price hikes ranging from $30 to $50 on original Switch consoles and select accessories starting August 3, 2025.
- On August 1, Nintendo announced U.S. price increases for the original Nintendo Switch family and select accessories, effective August 3, 2025.
- Nintendo said that tariffs, which it described as corporate speak for market conditions, earlier this year prompted U.S. price increases for the Switch.
- Under the new pricing structure, the original Nintendo Switch is $339.99, the Nintendo Switch OLED model is $399.99, and the Switch Lite is $229.99, Nintendo said.
- U.S. consumers will face higher prices for the Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite next week, as Nintendo announced upcoming increases due to market conditions.
- Although the Nintendo Switch 2 remains unchanged, Nintendo cautioned that future price adjustments may be necessary after nearly 6 million units sold in its first month.
