Nike Updates Tabi Split Toe Air Rift Model for Skims Footwear Debut
The NikeSkims Rift, a modernized '90s Air Rift shoe, retails for $150 and launches on Jan. 26 in North America via Nike and Skims websites and select stores.
- On Jan. 26, Nike and Skims will release the NikeSkims Rift Mesh in North America across Nike.com, Skims.com and select retail locations, retailing for $150 in cinnamon, brown and black.
- On January 14, the Nike–Skims partnership announced the collaboration, which generated $6.1 million in media impact value in its first week, according to Launchmetrics.
- The Rift reimagines the Nike Air Rift, the 1990s split-toe silhouette, adding the tabi toe, midfoot strap, minimalist midsole and outsole with input from barefoot long-distance runners in Kenya, Kardashian said "Together with Nike, we focused on creating a version that feels minimalist, sleek, and flattering".
- Kardashian styled and wore the Rift in Calabasas, California, while Marie Claire advises fashion fans to set alarms and prepare payment details as past launches sell out in minutes.
- Future seasonal collections will include additional footwear as Nike called the collaboration 'another opportunity to bring something unexpected to a new consumer' during its comeback, CEO Elliott Hill said.
