Nigeria: Security Operatives Guard Tinubu's Billboards Ahead Campaign Launch
- On Saturday, October 24, 2026, President Bola Tinubu will launch the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign at the Kaduna Township Stadium, joined by governors from the seven North-West states.
- Kaduna State Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe, chairing the Local Organising Committee, inspected stadium facilities on Wednesday and confirmed readiness, stating, "I'm comfortable with what has been done so far; we have the holding area, the conveniences are ready, the pavilions are ready."
- Nigeria Police Force and KASTLEA marshals have been deployed across Kaduna to guard President Tinubu's campaign billboards and posters from vandalism, with patrol vehicles stationed around the stadium venue and along Ahmadu Bello Way.
- African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar criticized the arrangements on Friday, writing, "Bola, you claim Nigerians love you, yet your billboards in Kaduna require security guards."
- Atiku argued the billboard protection contrasts sharply with security failures in communities, stating, "Bandits raid villages, terrorists attack communities, and families live in fear," while urging the president to prioritize citizen safety.
