Nearly 36 months after the coup d'état of 26 July 2023, the question of the detention of former Nigerian President Mohamed Bazoum continues to stir up international bodies. On Wednesday 11 March 2026, the European Parliament considered a motion for a resolution denouncing his continued captivity by the Nigerian CNSP junta and the repression carried out by the military authorities. The text is due to be put to the vote tomorrow, Thursday.
