Running back Nick Chubb announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday via Instagram, ending an eight-year career after battling persistent injuries.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Chubb played seven of his eight seasons for the Cleveland Browns before joining the Houston Texans in 2025 seeking a fresh start.
Across 100 career games, Chubb recorded 7,349 rushing yards and 54 touchdowns while maintaining a 5.0 yards-per-carry average, ranking 11th all-time in NFL history.
Chubb emphasized wanting to "end my career on a healthy note," citing multiple knee injuries including a season-ending tear in September 2023 as the reason for stepping away.
The Cedartown, Georgia, native expressed gratitude for his journey, stating, "Football was a huge blessing in my life," while acknowledging a fulfilling future beyond the sport.
