NFL and TMRW Sports unveil pro league for men and women launching ahead of the Los Angeles Olympics
The new league aims to pay top players and build a year-round pathway as flag football moves toward its Olympic debut.
On Monday, the NFL and TMRW Sports announced Premier Flag, a new professional league for men and women launching in summer 2027, with the sport eyeing the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
TMRW Sports, which developed the high-tech TGL golf league backed by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Mike McCarley, is applying a data-driven approach to standardize professional flag football.
Ambassadors including USA Football national team stars Ashlea Klam, Izzy Geraci, and Darrell "Housh" Doucette III have signed on; the league provides coaching, conditioning, and health benefits for players.
Flag football gains momentum as the NCAA potentially votes in January to make the sport a championship category, following its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
Following a combine in London last month, organizers scheduled talent identification events in Mexico City and a Premier Flag Showcase during Super Bowl week in Los Angeles, coordinating with IFAF on rules.
