Newcastle arms factory targeted by protesters with red paint
On February 18, 2025, activists from Palestine Action shut down the Rafael weapons factory in Newcastle, halting production for eight hours.
Rafael, Israel's third biggest weapons firm, directly owned by the Israeli state, produces armored military vehicles, including robotic combat vehicles.
A spokesperson for Palestine Action stated, 'The Israeli government owning a weapons factory in Newcastle is a stain on the whole community.'
Activists used a vehicle to block the factory entrance and painted the premises red to symbolize Palestinian blood.
