The earthquake storm that has raged in Balıkesir's Sındırgı district since August 10th has quieted in recent days. Aftershocks, which had been occurring at around 500 per day, have decreased to 300. Experts have described the period as a "temporary lull" and explained that the tremors in Sındırgı are related to the movements of the Moon. There is a possibility of aftershocks of magnitude 4-5 or slightly higher in December.
