New UEFA rules suddenly ban Champions League clash between Liverpool and Real Madrid at Anfield
- The Champions League league phase draw takes place on Thursday in Monaco at 5pm, where Liverpool, placed in Pot 1, will learn their eight opponents. Each team faces two clubs from each of the four pots.
- UEFA regulations prevent the same fixture from occurring at the same home venue for three consecutive seasons. Liverpool cannot host Real Madrid at Anfield because the Spanish club visited during the 2024/25 and 2025/26 campaigns.
