New Scotland’s tentative $9.6M budget stays under state-set tax cap

Supervisor Doug LaGrange’s budget message says the tentative budget “presents many challenges” and that the town’s effort to maintain services “while remaining under the tax cap, continues despite soaring prices.” He identifies health insurance and emergency services as the largest increases, and says the town “is well positioned to absorb these without exceeding the tax cap.”
