The New Museum Will Reopen on March 21 With Massimiliano Gioni’s “New Humans”

- Museum officials note the expansion began after buying 231 Bowery in 2008, but the NYC Department of Buildings delayed the planned last-fall reopening by requesting more information.
- Three elevators, an atrium stairway and a new street-level entrance plaza ease circulation and mitigate crowds, while upper floors include NEW INC for 120 entrepreneurs, a 74-seat Forum and Sky Room.
- The New Museum will offer free admission on March 21 and 22, but adult tickets will rise from $22 to $25 afterward, while free for visitors 18 and under and SNAP/EBT recipients.
