A new energy label for smartphones and tablets will apply in Switzerland from 1 July. The measure is based on an EU regulation and is intended to support sustainable purchasing decisions.
The new EU regulation applies to a variety of devices, including smartphones and regular mobile phones, cordless landlines, and tablets with screens from 7 to 17.4 inches.
The European Union is introducing major changes to the requirements for new smartphones and tablets. New rules for energy rating and labeling of these devices will come into effect on June 20, 2025.
