450 people currently live in the newly opened Ankerzentrum at Heimeranplatz, and the number could grow to as many as 900. Refugees will live here from registration to the asylum decision.
A new anchor centre for asylum seekers has been opened in Munich. Up to 900 people can be accommodated in the converted hotel on Garmischer Straße. Minister Herrmann sees this as an important building block of the "migration turnaround".
In the beginning, it was a request from Prime Minister Söder for an anchor centre in Munich. Now it is time: a former hotel is a new first point of contact for asylum seekers in Upper Bavaria.
