The authority has given its approval for one of the most important energy transition projects: The A-Nord route is expected to provide wind power from the north to North Rhine-Westphalia.
The line is considered one of the central projects of the Energiewende in Germany. Now all sections have been approved. The commissioning is planned for 2027.
The new A-Nord power highway with earth cables covers around 300 kilometres. It passes Xanten, among other things. Now the last section in Lower Saxony has also been approved.
On Tuesday, April 15, the transmission system operator Amprion received the latest permit to build the A-North DC connection. It is said that the planning approval for the NDS3 section was issued by the Federal Network Agency.
