Netanyahu quietly visits Monticello after meeting with Trump

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VIRGINIA, JUL 11 – The private tour was arranged as a diplomatic gesture following discussions on Israel's conflict with Hamas and rising antisemitic attacks, officials said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife quietly added a trip to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello estate to their itinerary before departing the U.S. Thursday.

The Prime Minister's Office statement noted that the Prime Minister and his wife Sarah returned from the US after visiting the home of Thomas Jefferson: "He laid the principles of modern democracy, the foundation of which is the will of the people," it said. The two returned on Trump's plane.
