- Bose quit the Bharatiya Janata Party in September 2023, ending his nine years of association with the party, citing ideological differences and a widening gap with party leadership.
- Accusing the party of bringing religion into politics, Bose slammed the BJP for "dividing communities for vote bank politics," a policy he said was vehemently opposed by his granduncle, Netaji.
- The move comes days before the two-phase West Bengal Assembly elections on April 23 and April 29, where voters will decide the 294-member legislature following the TMC's 2021 landslide victory with 213 seats.
- Expressing confidence in a TMC victory, Bose stated, "Mamata Banerjee would be victorious," despite having lost as a BJP candidate in the 2016 and 2019 elections.
