- Days before the speech the Supreme Court struck down Trump’s `Liberation Day` tariffs, and he partially reimplemented them at a 10% global rate under Section 122, while 40% said they lacked confidence in his cost of living management.
- The snap CNN poll found this was the weakest State of the Union reaction this century, with 36% of prime‑time viewers giving a somewhat or very negative response.
