Nearly 4 out of 10 Belgians never report sick, "and that should certainly not decrease"
Almost 4 out of 10 Belgian employees do not report sick a single day per year. This is evident from a study by prevention service Mensura. And 4 out of 10 is quite low. There are more 'zero absentees' than you think: almost 4 out of 10 Belgians are never absent from work due to illness
In the debate about absenteeism, the focus is usually on those who are often absent. However, there are also many zero absentees. More than we think. A study by Mensura shows that almost 4 out of 10 Belgians were not at home a single day due to illness between 2022 and 2024. Slightly more men than women never report being absent. Zero absenteeism is lowest among blue-collar workers.
