Chicago Twin Teens to Join Global Dialogue with Pope Leo XIV
Twin sisters Cameron and Petra Caprio helped develop authentic youth questions for a livestream dialogue with Pope Leo XIV at the National Catholic Youth Conference attended by 20,000 teens.
- On Nov. 21, Pope Leo XIV engaged American youth in a live digital encounter from Saint Benedict Parish, Chicago, marking the first pope-led online question session at NCYC.
- Organizers selected 30 young people in September to develop questions from their experience, and NCYC leaders then chose five students to represent Catholic teenagers and ask the pope live.
- Onstage at the NCYC livestream, the Caprio twins reviewed questions and expressed excitement, with Petra Caprio saying `It feels really amazing`; both are considering Jesuit Catholic colleges.
- Five teenagers will ask the pope anything Friday morning, while about 16,000 watch from Lucas Oil Stadium, and the session will be broadcast via the Eternal Word Television Network.
- Beyond the livestream, NCYC, organized by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, includes general sessions, Masses, and confession for more than 20,000 people, fostering faith renewal, youth leaders said.
