Napoli Hold Leaders Lazio in Serie A
Davide Frattesi scored for Lazio before an Alfonso Pedraza own goal earned Napoli a point and kept the leaders two points clear.
- On Sunday, Serie A leaders Lazio drew 1-1 away to struggling Napoli, dropping points for only the second time this season. Davide Frattesi scored in the 28th minute before Alfonso Pedraza's own goal leveled the match early in the second half.
- Napoli entered the match under pressure following recent defeats to Juventus and Porto, which forced the squad into a training retreat to revive their flagging form. Gennaro Gattuso's unbeaten Lazio side aimed for a seventh consecutive league victory.
- Frattesi finished emphatically in the 28th minute from Tijjani Noslin's through ball for his fourth goal of the season. Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas denied Rasmus Hojlund before halftime, though Pedraza's inadvertent touch redirected a cross into his own net early in the second half.
- Lazio remains atop the Serie A table with 29 points, moving two points clear of rivals, while Napoli sits in 10th place, 14 points behind the leaders. Scott McTominay tested goalkeeper Christos Mandas with late pressure but could not find a winner.
- Champions Inter Milan can cut the gap to Lazio to one point if they beat Como later on Sunday, while AC Milan and Atalanta travel to face Genoa and Monza respectively. Fiorentina hosts Juventus in the remaining Serie A fixtures.
