Nancy Guthrie Update: Car Driver’s Careless Mistake Could Lead to Arrest
Investigators have released masked-suspect footage and sent DNA to the FBI as no suspects have been named in the case.
Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie from Today, has been missing since February 1 after police believe she was abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona.
As the investigation enters its fifth month with no suspects named, investigators have released doorbell footage of a masked suspect and sent DNA for testing at the FBI lab in Quantico.
Retired detective Buehler theorized that a local tradesperson could have targeted Nancy, realizing she was a source of ransom due to her connection with Savannah and her notoriety.
Buehler suggested investigators could utilize car tracking to identify suspects or perform a reverse keyword search on Google Maps for anyone who searched Nancy's address.
Referring to an 11 years unsolved murder case where a witness finally overcame fear to come forward, Buehler remains hopeful a similar breakthrough could crack the Nancy Guthrie investigation.
