6 Leaders Received Awards as ‘America’s Greatest Living Innovators’ From Donald Trump. Only 1 Is US-Born
The White House said the six honorees helped advance superintelligence, semiconductors and cloud computing, and Trump called them national treasures.
- On Thursday, President Donald Trump honored six innovators—SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, AMD CEO Lisa Su, Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella—with the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
- The awards recognize leaders whose vision strengthened the U.S. economy and pioneered breakthroughs in semiconductor design and hyperscale infrastructure, laying the foundation for a "new Golden Age of Science," according to the White House.
- Trump praised Huang for pioneering superintelligence and Su for propelling AMD's value from under $2 billion to over $1 trillion through innovations in semiconductor engineering and chiplet-based integration.
- Honors also went to Dell, Musk, and Nadella for their engineering and leadership achievements. Trump noted Dell and his wife Susan's $6.25 billion contribution to fund "Trump Accounts" for 25 million American children.
- The "New Golden Age" report, released in July 2026 by Kratsios, recommends scaling superintelligence-driven discovery and strengthening support for early-career scientists to advance American scientific progress.
