The PS national office calls, in a statement, for LFI activists to disassociate themselves from their leader after recent polemics around Jewish names. Mr Mélenchon has reacted by denouncing "unbearable" accusations as well.
In a press release, the national office of the Socialist Party denounced "unreservedly" Jean-Luc Mélenchon's "unbearable conspiracy cartoons and anti-Semitic statements." The PS recalls that "there can be no national agreement" between him and LFI "given the worrying drift of the leadership of this movement". This does not exclude all local alliances or mergers.
