The mayor of Maipú, Tomás Vodanovic, dedicated heartfelt words to the devastating fire that consumed the Municipal Theatre. He did so through his X account. “4 years of work to be able to remodel our municipal theater, which was only 2 months away from being delivered and put at the disposal of the community,” he wrote. “Vodanovic continues to express his “penalty and frustration” by fire that destroyed the Municipal Theatre of Maipú.”
The accident mobilized about 175 firefighters and affected the building that was under renovation. Mayor Tomás Vodanovic pointed out that the works, which contemplated an investment of more than $500 million, were only two months before being delivered.
