4 UK Travel Companies Close with All Flights and Trips Cancelled - Are You Affected?
Multiple UK travel firms have ceased trading due to insolvency, causing cancellations and loss of protections; 78% of company insolvencies in England and Wales were creditor liquidations in Nov 2025.
On January 23, 2026, Gold Crest Holidays announced it had entered voluntary liquidation, joining a string of UK travel firms that collapsed recently and caused holiday cancellations.
Operational strains such as liquidation and strike‑off filings affected firms like Gold Crest Holidays, which blamed pandemic impact, partner changes and rising costs, while Oxfordshire Travel Limited entered voluntary liquidation and Asiara UK Ltd was struck off.
The list of affected operators includes Regen Central Ltd, Simply Florida Travel Ltd, and Asiara UK Ltd, which was removed from Companies House before ceasing ATOL trading on January 21.
Affected customers are urged to contact ABTA for Gold Crest refunds within six months, while Simply Florida holidaymakers should contact the Travel Trust Association for assistance.
Several travel firms closed in 2025 and recent months, with Insolvency Service data showing creditors’ voluntary liquidations made up 78 per cent of insolvencies in England and Wales in November 2025.
