Six Arrested After Daytime Freeway Pursuit
Police said the arrests followed an aggravated burglary and the theft of two cars, with one stolen vehicle recovered after a crash.
On Tuesday, Victoria Police arrested six people on the Monash Freeway near Chadstone following an early-morning aggravated burglary in Brighton East that forced closure of outbound lanes.
The pursuit began after offenders allegedly stole a Nissan Patrol and an Audi SQ5 from a Clonaig Street property at 5:30 am, prompting police to track the vehicles through multiple southeastern suburbs.
Authorities apprehended four teenagers, aged 16 and 17, and two men, aged 19 and 20, with officials confirming no one sustained injuries during the operation.
Police recovered the stolen Audi in Endeavour Hills following a separate collision, while traffic resumed after officers reopened two outbound lanes shortly before 1 pm.
Detectives are currently interviewing the six individuals as the investigation continues, and police urged any witnesses or anyone with footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
