For more than ten years, the Mulliez family has been in the pursuit of justice. Several searches and examinations of the family's heirs have taken place.
Among the hundreds of heirs to the multi-million-dollar conglomerate, the youngest are struggling to find their place in the family empire, when they are not completely ejected, such as Alexandre Mulliez, former vice-president of Auchan Retail France. A large "shareholder reorganisation" was launched last summer to address this.
The structure responsible for managing the many societies denotes a “unfounded” judicial procedure, and several family heirs have been examined.

A judicial investigation is underway into the organization of companies and holdings within the Mulliez family, considered the “French retail kings” with properties such as Auchan, Leroy Merlin, Auto 5, Decathlon and Krëfel. The court in Paris is investigating whether there has been tax fraud.
