The proposed amendment to the Animal Protection Act, which, among other things, envisages the abolition of caged chicken farming, mandatory microchipping of cats and a changed method of financing shelters, is still in the parliamentary process. "This is an upgrade of the law that responds to perceived shortcomings," explained Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Mateja Čalušić.
