President Daniel Francisco Chapo met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday during the Third Russia-Africa Summit, marking high-level engagement between the two leaders.
The Third Russia-Africa Summit provides a platform for dialogue between Russia and African nations. Both governments expressed willingness to expand economic cooperation, building on 70 years of diplomatic ties.
Chapo emphasized unity, stating, "We must always remain united, our countries and our brotherly peoples," while meeting Deputy Chairman Dmitri Medvedev to prioritize expanding trade and economic relations.
Following the meeting, social media users mocked images showing the height difference between the 6ft Chapo and Putin, with some commenting the Russian President appeared unusually small in photographs.
Participating nations are expected to adopt a Declaration on Cooperation in the Peaceful Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies. The GECF represents 20 leading gas-producing nations controlling more than 70 percent of global reserves.
