A motorcyclist is in the hospital with critical injuries after they were involved in a crash late Saturday night on Interstate 435, leaving part of the highway closed for several hours.

Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash at I-435 & 87th Street

On Saturday night around 10:15 pm, ambulances responded to the area of northbound I-435 and 87th Street to meet South Patrol Officers on a reported injury collision with critical injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black Suzuki 650 motorcycle was traveling northbound on I-435 at a very high rate of speed.
