Law enforcement authorities in the Moscow region have arrested a police general, two senior officers and several corporate executives at a local gas station network accused of stealing fuel designated for police vehicles, Russia’s Interior Ministry said Monday.

Deputy Head of the Directorate-General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Moscow province, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Major General Sergei Malkov, was detained on suspicion of stealing fuel belonging to the police department, as reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, in his television channel.
In Russia, a scandal broke out with the theft of fuel belonging to the Directorate-General of the Moscow Region of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in which a general and two police officers were detained.
