Morrisons apologises as 'do not eat' warning issued due to crisp recall
The FSA said the 140g packs may contain undeclared milk and told customers with allergies or intolerance to return them for a full refund.
On 27 June 2026, Morrisons recalled its Morrisons Maple and Bacon Back of the Net crisps after discovering undeclared milk in the product due to a packaging error.
A packaging error resulted in milk not being mentioned on the label, posing a serious health risk to consumers with milk allergies or intolerances.
Affected 140g packs carry a best-before date of 22 August, while the Food Standards Agency issued a "do not eat" warning for affected consumers.
Morrisons issued point-of-sale notices explaining the recall and offering full refunds for returned products, apologizing for the inconvenience caused by the error.
The FSA uses Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to alert consumers and authorities, sometimes issuing a "Food Alert for Action" for serious cases.
