- Among respondents experiencing financial strain, 52% delayed dental care, 37% postponed vision or doctor visits, and 31% skipped prescription medications. Prescription medications represented the most commonly reported coverage gap at 47%.
- Coverage limitations create widespread financial anxiety, with 45% of respondents worried about future healthcare needs and 56% concerned about affording costs from serious illness. These concerns persist despite having active insurance.
- Nearly 15% of insured respondents reported having prescriptions dropped from coverage, while nearly 1 in 5 faced restrictions like prior authorization or step therapy. These structural limitations suggest consumers increasingly pay more for coverage providing fewer protections.
