More than 1.5 million foreign pilgrims arrive in Mecca for annual Hajj pilgrimage
MECCA, Saudi Arabia — Muslim pilgrims have been streaming into Saudi Arabia’s holy city of Mecca ahead of the start of the Hajj later this week, as the annual pilgrimage
Saudi officials announced that over 1.5 million pilgrims have arrived in the country to attend the annual hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, which begins on Friday.
Large pilgrimages to Mecca, hajj, should be attended by every Muslim once in a lifetime. This year, 1.5 million pilgrims have already arrived in Saudi Arabia. The journey, which begins on June 14th, is expected to have the highest participation since the COVID-19 pandemic.
