China has completed testing of a new synthetic rubber production plant based on rare earths, considered strategic for the manufacture of electric vehicle tires and trucks. The unit, built by PetroChina's subsidiary Dushanzi Petrochemical, with support from Changchun's Applied Chemistry Institute, went into operation on July 16 and will have the capacity to produce 100,000 tons of material per year.
