Suddenly there are cracks in the walls: The fire brigade has brought 14 people to safety from an old building that is at risk of collapse in Hamburg. The neighbouring house is also considered to be at risk – structuralists and technical relief agencies are now wrestling for the stability of the building block.
The luxury residence in Monte-Carlo was evacuated on the evening of 22 July after a crack was found on a wall carrying in the basement. Investigations are ongoing and residents have had to temporarily relocate.
