Montana auditor: Out-of-state providers targeted Native people in $55M insurance scheme

Montana blocked $23.3 million in fraudulent ACA claims exploiting Native Americans; at least 183 victims identified and $27 million more pending review by federal authorities.

Insurance agents allegedly traveled to Montana reservations where they sought people struggling with substance use and encouraged them to sign up for an ACA health care plan.
